ACFN intends to promote MyPyramid through the development of an energy balance curriculum as part of the Healthy Schools Partnership, an innovative approach to addressing childhood obesity. Connections is a non-profit company connecting families to resources that promote growth in several fundamental areas of life. Our website, which is still under development, will provide families with information about our services, links to other services, and access to our Family Resource Center. Within this searchable database we will recognize activities, recipes, and other information that promote a healthy and active lifestyle. In November 2008, Cornell Food and brand lab launched the Small plate movement (c) to further the Lab’s mission of promoting consumer awareness in regards to food intake.  The Small Plate Movement promotes utilizing 10” diameter plates to decrease the amount of food people eat, without having an effect on their perceived fullness or satisfaction.  A two-inch difference in plate diameter would result in 22% fewer calories being served, and an estimated 18 lb. weight loss in one year. The Dairy Council of California’s mission is to advance the benefits of dairy foods as part of optimal health that best meet the needs of our customers through innovative learning programs, research and communications.  The Personal Nutrition planner on the Meals Matter website is a brief online interactive nutrition intervention.  The goal of this ongoing project is to help adults to make healthy and nutritious dietary choices tailored to their unique needs.
Doctor’s Direct Healthcare is a medical management company for self insured businesses, that providse a monthly e-mail containing healthy recipes that support or are in conjunction with the healthy habit focus.  In support of pregnant and newly-delivered Moms, they also send out healthy eating education as related to pregnancy, nursing and feeding of toddlers and infants. Dairy Queen has always taken pride in being a community member in supporting little leagues, community teams, and all types of physical activity.  To continue with a healthy lifestyle, they intend to include the MyPyramid on nutrition brochures to customers, as they are updated.  The Defense Commissary Agency operates a worldwide chain providing groceries to military personnel, retirees and their families.  DECA promotes MyPyramid pyramid through in store promotions and education in the 256 commissaries worldwide. Operation Be Fit: Eating Well for Life continually reminds customers of healthy eating options and the benefits of eating well. The program will be promoted in the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps communities with the Department of Defense nutrition care providers.
Del Monte Foods® Harvest Selections® make it easier to meet the MyPyramid produce recommendations by providing meals with 1 cup of vegetables per serving. As part of the MyPyramid Corporate Challenge, Del Monte will display the amount of vegetables that are contained in the meal on the front of the package. Consumers will be guided to the back of package where the approved MyPyramid icon will be displayed with additional information on the amount of all the food groups provided by each meal. DineRite was established in 1976 for the purpose of serving the school community in the cafeteria management area.  They are currently developing a software program to access the USDA database for nutritional information and already allow parents to access their Menu Program as well as manage their child’s cafeteria purchases from their web server. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism has emphasized the critical role of professionals in communicating responsible drinking or abstention. Research demonstrates that a professional simply discussing concerns about alcohol use can effectively change a patients’ drinking behavior. The Educational Tool Kit developed will facilitate discussions about drinking and present opportunities to discuss other messages delivered by MyPyramid.

As part of its “The Incredible MyPyramid” project, AEB and ENC will create educational toolkits leveraging how Americans can make the most of MyPyramid and MyPyramid for Moms.  The toolkits will provide healthcare professionals with relevant research on the benefits of consuming nutrient-rich, affordable, high-quality protein foods, like eggs, and will make it actionable for moms with recipes an tip for simple, meals, inspired by MyPyramid. ESHA has provided nutrition analysis to companies all around the world through software and nutrient databases.  The ESHA Nutrient Database follows stringent protocols for nutrient information, and is the industry hallmark for completeness and accuracy.  ESHA has taken on the initiative to add MyPyramid Equivalents data to database foods.  This effort allows users of ESHA products to analyze their food intakes or food products based on MyPyramid food group content, as well as, nutrient content. Evenflo began as a company that solely distributed baby care products. They have now expanded to meet all the needs of children from birth to the pre-school years, including a myriad of products such as car seats, strollers, high chairs, play yards and activity products, among others.

Food marketing Institute (FMI) is a non-profit association that conducts program s in reserach, education, industry relations and public affairs on behalf o its 1,500 member companies – food retailers and wholesalers. Together with the Grocery Manufacturers Association and Matchpoint Marketing they have created Take a Peak. This collaborative effort is a multi-year, in-store promotion program aimed at MyPyramid into the everyday lives on Americans by reaching them at the point of decision – in their local grocery store – and helping them move a step closer to healthy eating. At Fontis Health, it is their mission to make a difference in the lives of their clients by providing education, tools, and resources that foster pro-active health care and consumerism.  They offer a program entitled ProActive Rewards (c) that allows employer clients to provide incentives in the form of cash, gift cards, premium reductions, HSA dollars and other rewards to employees who complete a Personal Health Risk Assessment and personalized health and wellness video education curriculum.  Food for Tots authors and publishes education materials on early childhood nutrition, available in English and Spanish. Publications provide nutrition information compatible with the Dietary Guidelines and the MyPyramid program.  They feature recipes, meal planning guidance, tips for dealing with picky eaters, infant feed, preventing obesity, food safety, food allergy, and feeding sick children.

Their License to Snack campaign is a non-branded education program developed in collaboration with the American dietetic Association to educate consumers about incorporating snacks into a healthy diet. The dietitian section provides information and tools needed to teach patients about healthier snacking habits; and, the consumer section educates individuals more directly about healthier snacking habits with a number of interactive tools. Fruitology provides a line of healthy organic juices and juice blends along with organic vegetable blends that consumers can enjoy as part of a healthy lifestyle. Their “Fruitology 4 Life” campaign includes all social and economical classes of consumers in becoming aware of not only the food and beverage choices they make but the choices they make for their children.  Fruitology embraces the “USDA More is Better” campaign and creating a “Right Food Choice” awareness for consumers.  Fueling a consumer movement toward healthy, nutritional foods, Full Tank Foods offers a line of frozen vegetable-enriched kid favorites. The Institute for Food Technologists is a nonprofit scientific society with more than 20,000 individual members working in food science, food technology and related professions in industry, academia, and government. IFT publishes various resources for the food industry, including Food Technology and the Journal of Food Science.  The organization’s Small Changes Summit is a food science perspective on the importance of small changes in peer-reviewed publications. InView Solutions specializes in the development of community relations and educational programs to help companies and organizations make a social investment in the communities they serve.  InView Solutions is working with The Renaissance Chapter of the Links, Inc. to develop an educational resource tool for 7th grade students in two schools within the Detroit Public School System with hopes to expand.  They have created a discussion guide and complementary website that will be built around the Link’s programmatic thrust of Leadership, Health, Cultural and Performing Arts, and International Trends and Services. The Infant and Family Nutrition Agency (IFNA) is a community-based nonprofit organization serving the south tip of Texas. Its grassroots began from a generous donation from a patron at the First United Methodist Church located in Brownsville, TX.  IFNA works to provide free bilingual education and peer-counseling on prenatal health and nutrition, breastfeeding, infant/toddler nutrition and family nutrition; and, encourage their community to become involved in making healthy choices for themselves and their children.
Kellogg’s LAUNCH Program (Learning and Understanding Nutrition Choices and Health) is an elementary curriculum for kindergarten through 8th grade and teaches students about healthy lifestyles and showcases the foundation and electronic resources of MyPyramid. This curriculum includes lesson plans and background information for teachers, student activity sheets and “home connection” activities to get families involved. Kellogg’s Fuel for School initiative provides support for Mom via in-store displays and information. You can also find the MyPyramid logo on many Kellogg’s products. Kraft’s Healthy Living website has an established tradition of providing healthy eating an lifestyle information to consumers.  The basis for the dietary guidance featured on this website is both the 2005 Dietary Guidelines and the MyPyramid food guidance system.  A primary goal for this website is to provide a continually refreshed source of practical and timely healthy living tips for consumers – many of these tips feature easy-to-prepare food ideas that promote MyPyramid food group recommendations along with family pleasing taste and convenience.  Laura’s Lean Beef provides lean, natural beef that is raised without hormones or antibiotics to retail grocery stores nationwide.  Laura’s Lean Beef utilizes MyPyramid to reach out to consumers as well as members of the health professional community who actively advise consumers on healthy eating options.  Currently, LLB is in the process of creating a new fold out booklet that introduces Laura’s Lean beef products to consumers as well as members of the health professional community, especially Registered Dietitians and Certified Diabetes Educations.
LazyTown Entertainment is the only global entertainment brand dedicated to kids’ health and is on-air in 120 countries worldwide. Their mission: to motivate and inspire healthier lifestyles for children within the TV show. The characters eat “Sports Candy” (fruits and vegetables). This helps to promote a program that is projected to reach over 2,000 schools by the end of 2009 with fun, active and engaging fruit and vegetable packaging. The inclusion of healthy-active “Sportacus” and “Stephanie” characters promote healthier lifestyle habits and increased fruit and vegetable consumption in schools. Learning ZoneXpress provides creative, informative and engaging nutrition education and life skills products to schools, food service, healthcare, and worksite wellness. They offer posters, videos, PowerPoint presentations, tablets, curricula, incentives, and more that promote healthy eating an physical activity.   One example of their promotional publications includes a poster sized and tablet style versions of the MyPyramid for Preschoolers that uses real food photography of kid’s sized portions.  Learning ZoneXpress has also printed publications for Expecting Moms that provide nutritional information throughout each trimester. Let’s Go Girls is dedicated to teaching tween girls (ages 9-12) how to live a healthy, happy and fun lifestyle. They are currently developing a website with an online health journal. Girls can set goals, track their nutritional intake and their exercise, while also journaling to help them increase their self esteem and exercise their mind and soul. Additionally, they are developing a printed health journal utilizing the same concepts.
Logansport Memorial Hospital is a county owned rural hospital located in Logansport, Indiana. Their project “Your New Food Guide Pyramid” is a self guided PowerPoint presentation on their hospital intranet that is available for their 600 employees. It explains the new food pyramid and how it is now personalized. This presentation is also available for customers who are provided wellness plan. Many presentations are done throughout the year for children’s groups and adult groups on the food pyramid an how to use the website. Children participate in MyPyramid relay races, fun food ideas and exercise songs so children can learn the message! Love Your Fruits & Vegetables (LYFVE pronounced Life) is the only “GREEN” caterer for children in the North East.  They conduct cooking classes for children ages 2.5 to 18 years. Whole Food Markets and YMCA are among some of their many clients. Their “Don’t Drop the Super Ball” campaign encourages participants to eat healthy and follow the MyPyramid guidelines. Our project provides online wellness education and an interactive means for parents and children to plan school meals. The MyTray project allows parents and children to plan meals based on what is actually served at school. A MyPyramid screen compares the amount of food on the tray to individualized nutrition guidance. The MyNutrition project offers nutrition education for parents and children. Resources include original content and links to credible websites.
Masters in Dietetics, L.L.C. is a nutrition and health promotion company which has partnered with MyPyramid to educate nutrition gatekeepers on the fundamental guidelines of wellness. The program “Master in MyPyramid: Montgomery” conducts wellness classes in clinics, businesses, churches, and the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. Tabitha Mays, a Registered Dietitian, has developed the 6-week educational program for employees and business owners and their families. MatchPoint Marketing is a full-service, consumer marketing agency that specializes in: concepting, creative services, promotional development and post-analysis.  MatchPoint partners with consumer packaged goods and major retailers to create strategic promotions, advertising, and in-store campaigns.  MatchPoint is currently working with the Grocery Manufacturers’ Association and the Food Marketing Institute with their “Take a Peak into MyPyramid” project, a multi-year in-store promotion program aimed at bringing MyPyramid to life. Mead Johnson Nutritionals is dedicated to helping provide infants and children with the best start in life. It is best known for its Enfamil Infant and Toddler formulas and Expecta® LIPIL® DHA supplement. We believe that a healthy baby starts with a healthy mother. Therefore, we plan to promote healthy nutrition among expecting and new mothers by introducing online and offline initiatives to build awareness and promote engagement with MyPyramid for moms.
MECKids.com is a member of the Aerobodies brand and has become known for developing unique and innovative wellness programs that can be used in home or at work. MECKids.com has created a fitness and wellness challenges/game that are interactive, team-building and allow school age preteens and teenagers to track their fitness and nutrition progress. The program will also show educators, teachers, parents and other caregivers how they can continue to encourage positive exercise and nutrition choices in young people. Metz & Associates is a contract management company that is quality focused, health conscious and services a variety of market segments, including education and healthcare.  Their RD Nutrition Educators have developed three elementary grade programs to be presented in a small classroom setting. The programs are: Importance of Brekfast; Fun with the Food Guide Pyramid; and eating Fruits and Vegetables.  The presentations discuss the importance of eating food items that fit in the pyramid guidelines. Mott's is more energized and focused than ever on developing great tasting, healthy, and convenient apple-based products. New products like Mott's Plus juices and beverages, fortified with the entire family's health needs in mind, and Mott's Organics apple sauce provide "simple solutions" for busy moms looking for smart snacking choices for their kids.
MILKPep is committed to increasing the nation’s fluid milk consumption. In 2008, their “Chief Health Officer Program” was aimed to support the nutritional gatekeeper of the family, Mom. The famed Milk Mustache Mobile toured the country and allowed kids to “Mom-inate” their Mom as the nation’s Chief Health Officer for the chance to appear in her very own Milk Mustache Ad, which included a $100K salary. JSB Industries, Inc developed an animated presentation as a tool for teachers to assist students in learning the importance and value of information on the nutritional fact panel. The DVD and printed copy packaged in this presentation will help students to be able to read and understand the nutrition facts panel found on food packaging. MYTRAK, the fastest growing health system in the USA, has over 500,000 people attributing their exercise success to its methods. Many of these participating members could benefit from a comprehensive and fully integrated nutritional or weight management program. MYTRAK’s online portal will feature MyPyramid as a seamless extension to exercise programming that integrates the Menu Planner, Tracker, Steps to a Healthier Weight, and various other MyPyramid recommendations.
The National Beef Cattleman’s Association and America’s beef producers have a long-standing commitment to nutrition education. MyPyramid has been featured on 1.3 million Beef Check-off funded resources.  The beef industry will distribute thousand of materials to promote these new resources to nutrition influencers, including American Dietetic Association leadership, spokespeople, Dietetic Practice Groups, etc. as well as work with their network of 45 State Beef Councils to reach thousands of local health professionals. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is dedicated to improving the well-being of all young children, with particular focus on the quality of educational and developmental services for all children from birth through age 8. NAEYC is committed to becoming an increasingly high performing and inclusive organization. The National Association for Health and Fitness is the network of State Governor’s Councils and Coalitions. 2009 marks their 20th anniversary of their National Employee Health & Fitness Day, which is observed the third Wednesday of May.  On this day NAH&F promotes MyPyramid resources and strengthens promotion of regular physical activity and positive nutrition choices in America’s workforce.

Their project, Well Balanced Kids is a free nutrition field trip given by their in-store nutritionist at Family Fresh Market grocery store in Wisconsin. This tour emphasizes the major food groups in MyPyramid, and is designed to reinforce the health curricula taught in schools. The National FFA Organization, formerly known as the Future Farmers of America, is a national youth organization with student members all preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture.  The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
The National Dairy Council (NDC) and National Football League (NFL) are teaming up to make a commitment to America’s youth with a program called Fuel Up to Play(c). This will continue the NDC’s commitment to inspire, enable and empower youth to make healthful food and activity choices. Piedmont Chiropractic Center is a chiropractic office that focuses on treating musculoskeletal disorders and educating the public on how to manage their health with preventative care, exercise and nutrition. Piedmont is working to educate the Kernersville, NC community on nutrition through MyPyramid.gov by creating awareness with local businesses about MyPyramid.gov and the Corporate Challenge; and, by creating presentations with a local church health ministry group to help summarize the 2005 Dietary Guidelines.
Today peanuts are classified in MyPyramid with meat, fish, poultry, dry beans, eggs and nuts because of their high protein content. However, because peanuts are plant-based, they do NOT contain cholesterol and some of the saturated fat that is found in animal-based sources of protein. In fact, they contain a much higher percentage of the "good" unsaturated fats than saturated fats. Therefore, peanuts have been placed closer to the bottom of both the Mediterranean and the Vegetarian Food Guide Pyramids. Prairie Farms is committed to nutrition education and feel strongly that milk-dairy is part of the solution to maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle.  They have developed side-panels for their half-pint school milk carton that encourage the consumption of milk, promotes physical activity and suggests drinking low fat milk. As the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) reminds our country of its obligations to children and provides parents and families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while providing the best tools for parents to help their children be successful students.

They have launched an informative campaign to bring information to parents on the proper diet for their children by: examining children’s weight, length and BMI and discussing a proper diet to prevent obesity; providing handouts with the proper amount of each food group based on their height, weight and BMI; and, provides nutritional information on their own website. Really Cool Foods manufactures fresh organic & natural ready meals which are distributed nationally, carried in a wide range of retail locations, and have a broad consumer target including anyone who enjoys great tasting, convenient food that is “better-for-you.” Really Cool Foods intends to incorporate the MyPyramid icon into a selection of packaging over the coming years and looks forward to supporting the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans through this effort.
We have a board game called The Good Health Game. It is a FUN way to teach your kids about Healthy Eating, Exercise, and other important issues regarding Health. It is the perfect product to Partner with the MyPyramid Project. We plan to place the MyPyramid for Kids into each game. Players during the game will be asked questions about the pyramid. Sodexo will partner with the MyPyramid Corporate Challenge with Lift Off To Wellness!, a program that sends monthly messages about good nutrition and physical activity to students and parents and is integrated in the dining experience. Communication will include monthly posters, menus, and cartoons featuring both Los Kitos (lovable Latino cartoon characters) and a new website called “Liftoff’s Playground.”

Take a Peak is a multi-year in-store promotion program aimed at bringing MyPyramid to life.  Take a Peak provides a “hands on” educational experience to help consumers build healthier diets.  Executed by MatchPoint Marketing—a leader in consumer in-store promotions—and developed and supported by the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) and the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), Take a Peak is the largest effort undertaken by the food, beverage, and retail industry to help consumers learn more about MyPyramid. Take Shape Kids, is a Dallas-based “lifestyle” company providing a fitness and nutrition curriculum for children ages 3-6, grassroots marketing for companies manufacturing healthy food products and an e-marketing site as a convenient resource to provide a wealth of information to assist families in making healthy lifestyle choices. Take Shape Kid’s is working to host “Family Wellness” promotions to be held on site at select grocery chains in the suburban Dallas area. Tomatoes when consumed within the context of a healthy diet can help in dealing with major health concerns such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and obesity. The Tomato Products Wellness Council was created to ensure this positive message gets out to consumers. The Council formed to take a unified approach in building demand for and increasing consumption of affordable and nutritious tomato products. They are funding scientific research into the benefits of consuming a diet rich with tomato products. Their current research is focusing on cardiovascular health.
Tools for Healthy Choices is excited to partner with MyPyramid: The Corporate Challenge to Step Up and End Childhood Obesity. Our commitment to MyPyramid is to enlighten parents and students by developing a complimentary student edition of our health care and fitness journal. The new journal will feature MyPyramid graphics, Menu Planner, Meal Tracking Worksheet, and eating and exercise Tips for Families. Other features will consist of organizational tools for health care and school. TriCare Management Activity provides military healthcare benefits to over 9.2 million beneficiaries.  TriCare Management recognizes the serious risk that lies in the childhood obesity epidemic.  Their website provides interactive tools for adults and kids to retrieve information to help encourage healthy eating and weight loss for better health. The public launch of the US Potato Board's Healthy Potato Campaign took place in February 2004 with "Skinny Potato" ads in opinion leader publications, such as The New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, and Roll Call. At the same time, an aggressive publicity campaign focused on consumer lack-of-knowledge about potato nutrition and the industry's campaign to get the facts out.

The Vegetable with More(c) is an education program by Bush Brothers & Company (Bush Beans) to help consumers meet MyPyramid recommendations for vegetables by including nutrient-rich beans as part of a healthy diet. The program features science-based nutrition education resources, health professional tool, and consumer-tested recipes to help families enjoy beans more often as part of a healthful diet. Weber Shandwick, one of the most trusted and experienced strategic communications firms in Washington DC, plans to undertake a public education and advocacy campaign to help cut over-consumption of food in a subtle; but effective way.  A plan is underway to work with retailers, manufacturers and advocacy groups to develop a line of china based on the 9 ¾ inch dinner plate, common in the early 20th century when waistlines were smaller. Wellness Corporate Solutions builds customized, high-impact corporate wellness programs. WCS has a long track record of delivering results for world-class public companies, small businesses, professional firms and non-profits around the country.
The WFC collaboration efforts with MyPyramid Corporate Challenge will include the inclusion of the MyPyramid.gov link on the WFC homepage, as well as promotions of the release of MyPyramid for Moms and the Menu Planner. The Grain Talk Blog, which has an audience of consumers, grain-based trade and media, will also promote MyPyramid extensions. Presentations and flyers will be distributed to WFC members regarding the benefits of MyPyramid. Participants are engaged in culinary arts by preparing nutritious, tasty and colorfully inviting dishes; and, parents are given quick, easy and nutritious recipes with cooking demonstrations monthly. MyPyramid.gov is already referenced on the KFC brochures and in-store posters. The other brands will inlude MyPyramid.gov as new brochures and posters are updated. As the “Keep It Balanced” website is revised, it will have resources from MyPyramid to educate customers on balancing diet and exercise. The website will have links to MyPryamid.gov and will include messaging consistent with Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
